The East African Safari Classic Rally that was to take place from 1st November 2021 to 9th November 2021 has been postponed to early next year due to the prevailing COVID-19 travel restrictions.
The East African Safari Classic Rally organisers expressed regret for postponing the much anticipated rally whose planning was at an advanced stage but said the ongoing COVID-19 travel restrictions made the decision necessary.
“After careful consideration we have decided to postpone the rally to early next year. As you are aware Kenya remains on the UK Government’s ‘Red List’ which makes international travel complicated due to quarantine restrictions. We are committed to ensure the East African Safari Classic Rally takes place as soon as safely possible,” said the East African Safari Classic Rally Board Chairman Joey Ghose in a statement.
Mr Ghose added that the new proposed dates will be announced in the shortest time possible.
Several world-renowned rally drivers had already confirmed their participation in the 9-day rally that was to take place covering roughly 5000km.
